At 2 Coots Ranch, we’re proud of the heart and soul that goes into every project we create. One of our core passions is woodworking, and Phil, our talented craftsman, has been honing his skills since he was a young boy.

Starting at just 8 years old, Phil embarked on his first woodworking project—a coffee table built with a jigsaw and hammer. Since then, wood has been a constant in his life, with countless hours spent creating intricate and beautiful pieces. Whether it’s a custom desk, a sturdy bookcase, or a finely crafted cutting board, Phil’s dedication to detail shines through in every project.

Some of his specialties include:

  • Furniture – Handcrafted tables and desks, built to last.
  • Bookcases – Elegant, functional, and made to hold your stories.
  • Inlay Cutting Boards – Intricate designs that are as beautiful as they are useful.
  • Customized Plaques – Personalized gifts with meaning, perfect for any occasion.

What makes Phil’s work truly special is the heart behind it. As part of his personal commitment, Phil creates and gifts custom plaques to veterans, each one engraved with the phrase, “My oath of service doesn’t have an expiration date.”This personal message reflects his deep respect and gratitude for those who have served in the military.

If you’d like to own a custom creation, we’re always open to commissions!

Thank you for supporting us and our mission to craft not just beautiful wood, but a legacy of service and craftsmanship.

Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to seeing you at the ranch!

The Honest Truth: Grass-Finished vs Grain-Finished

Some folks argue about this like it’s religion and politics at Thanksgiving. But here at 2 Coots Ranch, we’re not here to blow smoke — we’re here to feed people real beef the right way. And the truth? Both grass-finished and grain-finished can be ethical, nutrient-dense, and raised regeneratively — if you actually give a darn about how you do it. And yes we do!

Find Your American Food Source

You’ve probably noticed it too: the way we get our food is changing, and not always for the better. Supermarket shelves full of mystery meat, “Product of USA” labels that don’t mean a darn thing, and family farms selling out because they can’t keep up with big corporations.

Nature already solved the problem — it’s called a steak.

You ever notice how the loudest folks preaching “plant-based only” are usually the same ones who look like they’d lose a wrestling match with a garden hose? Bless their hearts. Listen, I don’t have a “beef” with fruits and veggies — they’ve got their place on the plate. But let’s not forget: your brain is a hungry critter, and it doesn’t run on kale smoothies.
