Beef & Bone Broth Brain Fuel Stew
September 6, 2025 • 0 comments

Old-timers knew brains run on fat and minerals, not sugar packets and energy drinks. Pasture-raised beef, marrow bones, and good veggies give your noggin what it needs to fire on all cylinders—without fancy powders or “biohacking.” Just meat, bones, and patience.

Directions
Ingredients
- 2 lbs 2 Coots Ranch beef stew meat
- 2 lbs 2 Coots Ranch marrow bones or soup bones
- 2 tbsp bacon grease or lard
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 3 big carrots, chunked
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (pulls minerals out of the bones)
- Sea salt & black pepper (don’t be shy)
- Water to cover (or homemade beef stock if you’ve got it)
Directions
- Brown It Up
- Heat bacon grease in a big ol’ pot. Toss in beef cubes, salt ‘em good, and brown ‘em on all sides.
- Bones In
- Throw in marrow bones, onion, and garlic. Let ‘em sizzle a bit to wake up that flavor.
- Slow & Low
- Cover with water. Add vinegar, carrots, potatoes, and celery. Bring to a boil, then drop the heat and let it simmer all afternoon (4–6 hours). Keep topping off with water if it gets low.
- Finish Strong
- Fish out the bones (or gnaw the marrow if you’re smart). Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper.
How to Eat It
Scoop into a big bowl, slap a hunk of sourdough or cornbread on the side, and dig in. This stew sticks to your ribs, sharpens your brain, and fuels you like food’s supposed to—real, simple, from the land.
