Homemade Stovetop Popcorn
November 15, 2025 • 0 comments
A simple holiday favorite that turns a handful of Amish Country kernels into a warm, crunchy bowl of goodness. Add your favorite toppings, gather the family, and let that nostalgic popcorn aroma drift through the house. It’s the easiest way to make the holidays feel like home.
Directions
You’ll need:
- ½ cup Amish Country popcorn kernels (any variety you like)
- 3 tbsp melted fat (we like coconut, butter, ghee, or tallow)
- Sea salt
- Optional toppings: melted butter, cinnamon sugar, parmesan, ranch seasoning, or the Mrs.’ favorite — a drizzle of honey
How to do it:
- Heat fat in a large pot over medium-high.
- Add a couple kernels and cover. When they pop, the fat’s hot and ready.
- Pour in the rest of the kernels, cover, and shake the pot every few seconds.
- When popping slows to 2 seconds between pops, pull it off the heat.
- Season it up and serve while warm.
Easy. Fun. Family-friendly.
And it’ll make your house smell like the holidays kicked the door open.
