American Legion Post 128 needs $200,000 to erect a building and welcome in more of their community.

◉ Host meetings for veterans of the re-energized Post 128 (right now they're meeting in a cafe)

◉ Offer an affordable space available to neighbors (pancake breakfasts, scouting events, meetings, birthday parties, etc).

◉ Create a 4,000 ft2 community center with 60 parking spots that brings people together all the time.

Will you help make the dream a reality?

Why We're Doing It

1- BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER. With a new 4,000 ft2 community building with 60 parking spots, we can bring together 1,000+ people annually for many reasons and causes.

2- HELP CHILDREN. We are already renting our current building to Head Start. And, in 2023 and 2024, we gifted $5,000/year to get kids supplies they need. We could do much more with a new space.

3- SUPPORT VETERANS. Instead of meeting at a cafe, Post 128 would have an official headquarters. And it needs it, because it's growing!

The Post used to be quite sizable. But since COVID, it diminished down to around 5 members. In the past 2 years, it's been invigorated with new energy! It now has 50 members with at least 20 attending each monthly meeting. And it continues to grow.

4- UPLIFT THE ECONOMY. Decatur County is one of the poorest in Tennessee. Let's infuse new energy and create place-based solutions to uplift local businesses.

Our Story

American Legion Post 128 is growing and wants to do more.

American Legion Post 128 has a building... but it's not their headquarters.

The building is outfitted with small tables, small chairs, and small toilets. For the past couple decades, they've rented and maintained their building for the local Head Start program, helping families get needed access to childcare and preschool. They maintain it and fix things as needed. Financially, it's a wash (or even a loss) at the end of the year.

American Legion Post 128 wants to do more. They need $200,000 to erect a building and welcome in more of their community.

The dream is for the new 4,000 ft2 building to host meetings for the Post and other organizations (the Post is now meeting in a cafe) and for it to offer community events like pancake breakfasts, turkey dinners, and other celebrations.

American Legion Post 128 wants to create a place where people don't just go and meet once a month. They want it to be a community center that brings people together all the time.

So they've partnered with a local farm. 2 Coots Ranch will be selling specially curated boxes. 15% of the profits will go directly to American Legion Post 128. And, they'll also be accepting donations on their behalf.
