Ingredients
- (4) Chicken Breasts
- (2 Tbsp) Olive Oil
- (1/4 Cup) Honey
- (1/4 Cup) Coconut Aminos (or Soy Sauce)
- (3 Cloves) Garlic, minced (more if you’re a garlic lover)
- (1 Tsp.) Dried thyme (or a sprig of fresh thyme from the garden)
- (1 tsp.) Oregano
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
- (1 Sprig) Fresh parsley (optional)
- (2 Tbsp.) Chopped green onions (optional)
- (1 Tbsp.) Cornstarch (optional, for those who like their sauce a bit thicker)
- Beef Fat & Tallow
Directions
1. Prep the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with a hearty sprinkle of salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Don’t be shy!
Heat olive oil (or beef tallow) in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Cook the Chicken:
Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, until they’re golden brown and cooked through (the trusty meat thermometer should read 165°F/74°C). Remove the chicken and set aside.
3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
In the same skillet, toss in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, or until it’s fragrant and making you hungry.
Pour in the honey and coconut aminos (or soy sauce). Give it a good stir and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes. If you like your sauce a bit thicker, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir it into the sauce, cooking for another minute until it thickens up nicely.
4. Finish It Up:
Return the chicken to the skillet, making sure it gets a good coating of the honey garlic sauce. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes, so the chicken can soak up all those tasty flavors.
Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or green onions if you’ve got ‘em.
5. Serve:
Serve up the honey garlic chicken with your favorite sides—whether it’s over a bed of rice, alongside some roasted veggies, or with a hearty helping of mashed potatoes.
Enjoy!
